In 2021, the federal government allocated $42 billion to bring high speed internet access to millions of Americans. The allocation was part of a $1 trillion infrastructure bill passed under the Biden administration just three years ago. Since then, exactly zero new access points have been created and zero Americans have been served. The infrastructure bill also allocated $7.5 billion for electric vehicle chargers. So far, only eight have been built. In the same time, Tesla has opened over 2,000 EV charging stations. And regarding high speed internet, Starlink continues to provide reliable internet service in remote areas. If more voters understood what the private sector is providing compared to federal promises and $42 billions in waste, there’d likely be more turnover in Congress.
