Today is the first day of early voting for the primary election in Kentucky. Voters will go to the polls to vote for candidates vying for state House, state Senate, and Congress. A few local races may be on the ballot in your area as well. There are contested primaries for over two dozen state House races and turnout is likely to be low. A behind-the-scenes PowerPlay involving influential and mainline Republicans in an effort to knock off more conservative Republicans in the state house. A couple of well-funded PACs have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to beat conservative incumbents. Yet ultimately, the voters will decide who they want to represent them.
