Former Kentucky Attorney General, Daniel Cameron has been charged by the Ethics Commission for a purported campaign violation when he ran for governor. It’s the second time this charge has come up. Cameron contends that it’s a political attack on his candidacy for US Senate. Cameron said: “There were preliminary conversations about hosting an event. Once we were made aware of a conflict, the event was canceled. When they later made online contributions, I recused myself and the contributions were refunded. My approach has been to review, recuse, and refund.” The Kentucky Court of Appeals found that the Ethics Commission is unduly constituted by Governor Beshear. The political realm is super partisan, but regardless of political parties, we should demand that the laws followed by everyone.
