Governor Andy Beshear launched “The Andy Beshear Podcast” last week, a show he hopes will “bridge divides and foster understanding” in our polarized age. Beshear and his supporters offer a bold vision for the podcast, but critics say he stole the idea from California Governor Gavin Newsom. Beshear and Newsom are contenders for the 2028 Democratic nomination for U.S. president. The first episode of Beshear’s podcast featured Democrat megadonor John Morgan, founder of Morgan & Morgan, the personal injury law firm. During the episode, Beshear told listeners to choose “hope over anger” and “love over hate.” Beshear has not announced that he will run for the Democratic nomination in 2028, but his podcast is the latest step of cultivating a national audience.
