​Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman recently addressed the nation’s largest drug policy summit, the Rx and Illicit Drug Summit, held in Nashville, TN. In his speech, Coleman emphasized the importance of collaboration among law enforcement, public health officials, and community leaders to combat the opioid crisis in the U.S. He also highlighted Kentucky’s multifaceted approach, which includes support for addiction treatment programs and preventive education initiatives aimed at youth and young adults. Coleman stressed that a comprehensive strategy is essential to address the complexities of drug addiction and its impact on communities across the Commonwealth. His remarks underscored the state’s commitment to reducing overdose deaths and supporting affected families through coordinated efforts. Last year nearly 2000 Kentuckians died from drug overdoses.
