The Take It Down Act forces websites to remove explicit images posted online without consent.  It’s a sad but increasing reality in digital spaces. The Take It Down Act simply says that if somebody finds a nude or explicit image of themselves, whether actual or a deepfake, once they notify the website, it must be taken down within 48 hours. Otherwise that website and creator of that website will face punitive actions. Kentucky Senator Amanda Bledsoe applauded the law and said, “As a mother and a legislator, I know how urgent it is to modernize our laws to meet the threats of a rapidly changing digital world.” The law restores a measure of protection for each of by holding tech platforms accountable.
