Over 18 million Americans are suffering from the symptoms of cannabis use disorder. Among those aged 18-25, over 4 million use it daily. The New York Times recently ran a story highlighting the great risks of using marijuana. The problems are both physical and mental, as it can cause psychosis and schizophrenia. One doctor said, “Cannabis should not have a free pass as something that is safe because it’s legal — or safe because it’s natural — because actually it clearly causes harm in a number of my patients.” Marijuana advocates claim that it’s a harmless way to relax or find relief from pain. But it’s clear that instead of providing relief, it’s hurting millions of Americans who are addicted and suffer from negative side effects.
