The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals is considering whether cancel culture and bigotry will stand at the University of Louisville Medical School. Dr. Allan Josephson was fired in 2019 because of his views on how to treat gender dysphoric minors. Josephson served as chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology for more than a decade. But U of L administrators punished and fired him after he said that “the notion that gender identity should trump [scientific realities] when classifying individuals is counter to medical science.” This is professional, scientific language and not inflammatory, but U of L only allowed one view. Now it’s up to the 6th Circuit to find out if U of L practices cancel culture by wrongfully terminating Josephson.
