A new California law says public schools can hide students’ gender transitions from their parents. The law also requires schools to develop LGBT-friendly parent resources. The state claims that the law will protect children from parents who don’t affirm their new sexual identities. But should public schools be actively sexualizing children? And what about parental rights? Parents of children in California public schools won’t know if their children struggle with gender dysphoria or whether the public school is actively participating in social transitioning of their child. California is usurping parental authority, and significant consequences of the radical change are on the horizon as it becomes clear to more families that California’s public schools are no longer safe learning environments for their children.
