The U.S. House and Senate are considering legislation to automatically register women in the Selective Service. Men between the ages of 18 and 25 are required to register for the draft, but never before have women been subject to this law. And this is for good reasons. Women are not designed by God to go and fight wars, especially in combat roles. Rather, men have been tasked to defend this nation. Fortunately, Kentucky women have the ability to opt out, but this is not the case with most other states. Most women aren’t aware that this radical shift in public policy is being considered by Congress. However, it will likely raise alarm if the draft goes into effect for women, especially as young girls could be forced to fight our wars in the future.
