The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville celebrated the 30th anniversary of its current president, Dr. Albert Mohler. Mohler was just 33 years old when he took the reigns of his alma mater, which was dominated by theological liberals. There were many battles in his early years as he weeded out professors who openly denied core tenets of the Christian faith. During his tenure, Mohler transformed the seminary into one of America’s largest and, more importantly, one that is faithful to its founding theological convictions. Institutions committed to conservative Christianity like Southern are rare. Southern Seminary is a gift not just to Kentucky, but to the rest of the nation as its graduates fill the pulpits in all 50 states. And Kentuckians can be thankful for Dr. Mohler’s faithful leadership.
Al Mohler has guided me into right thinking about many areas of scripture. I attended Southern and am so thank for his leadership back to fundamental and conservative think. When I was there, it was under another’s leadership-against many of the fundamental things I believed I might have stayed for doctorate if Al Mohler had been at the helm then.
Congratulations on 30 years of bring Southern Back to a place to be so thankful for! Happy Anniversary!
