Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron issued an opinion saying that every school district in the Commonwealth of Kentucky should follow a recently enacted state law that keeps gender ideology and age-inappropriate and divisive curriculum out of the classroom. Cameron said that the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE) most recent interpretation of the law is flawed and circumvents the state legislature. However, KDE’s Commissioner Jason Glass is pushing back. It’s interesting to note how politicized public education has become. The state legislature is working to keep divisive ideology out of the classroom, education administrators are working to keep it in, and now the Attorney General is stepping in. As we’ve said before, this issue will likely be settled at the ballot box in November, when Kentuckians they choose our next governor.
