If you’re like nearly half of America, you’ll make some kind of New Year resolution. Maybe you’ve resolved to eat better, exercise more, or spend more time with family. G.K. Chesterton quipped that resolutions are “something that goes in one Year and out the other.” Of course, intentions of resolutions are good, but the follow-through for most is lacking. May I encourage you with the most important resolution you could make this year? That’s to walk closer with God? After all, he’s the one who made you, and He’s the why and how of your life. May God bless you with a great New Year, and may He give you the strength to follow through with your resolutions, especially as you resolve to draw closer to follow Him.
