For decades, support for same-sex marriage was on a path of increasing acceptance. But new polling shows that trend is slowing or even reversing. A recent Gallup survey found that support for same-sex marriage has fallen from 71 percent in 2022 to 65 percent today. The decline is happening mostly due to Republicans. Their support has dropped from a majority just a few years ago to only 37 percent today. The overall population increasingly views same-sex relationships with skepticism. Many are seeing that children need both mothers and fathers raising them. And the statistics show that children in married two-parent households with both a mother and father, are emotionally and psychologically healthier than their peers in same-sex parented homes.
