South Central Ky Students Doing Good June 16, 2017 by Staff

Summer break may mean vacation and lazy days for most kids, but not for a group of students in South Central Kentucky.  More than 250 middle and high school students put their faith into action across Barren, Hart and Metcalfe counties during the first week of June.  They built handicapped ramps for the elderly, repaired and painted buildings in public parks, and encouraged residents at a state hospital.  The students took part in an event called Love Loud.  It’s the fifth year its taken place, and more than 38 churches worked together on more than 200 projects. The students even donated $750 to a local counseling agency. So maybe the kids are alright. Their volunteer efforts make our communities a better place to live, and they challenge us to use our free time in a way that benefits others.
