Social Media Blocks Conservatives July 12, 2019 by Staff

The social media platform Twitter is under fire for restricting conservative speech on its platform.  Earlier this year, journalist Meghan Murphy tweeted that “men are not women,” and for that she was banned from Twitter. Twitter police classified Murphy's tweet as “hate speech” against those who identify as transgender. Another social media platform called Pinterest, treats pro-life messages in the same category of pornography. They added the pro-life organization Live Action to a pornography “block list.” Live Action has also been banned from Twitter because they've exposed abuses by Planned Parenthood. Of course, Twitter and Pinterest are private organizations and they can police their own platforms. But when they suppress certain voices and viewpoints, they diminish their value and short-circuit our national conversations and our politics.
