NEA Supports Abortion July 15, 2019 by Staff

The National Education Association Representative Assembly recently voted to support a “fundamental right to abortion.” It's ironic that the NEA is taking a pro-abortion position because as more moms choose abortion there will be less children in the classroom, and this means there won't be a need for as many teachers. The NEA has avoided the abortion controversy in order to avoid alienating its members. In fact, the NEA has publicly denied ever using membership dues to support or defend abortion. This is no longer the case. The NEA is politically engaged and has 28,000 active members in Kentucky. Since most Kentuckians identify as pro-life, expect fewer Kentucky teachers to join the union—especially when they learn the group may now be using their dues to help pro-abortion politicians win their elections.
