Fairness Campaign Rallies Against Nance May 10, 2017 by Staff

Judge Mitchell Nance is back in the news. He's the family court judge in Glasgow who has recused himself in cases regarding the placement of children into the custody of homosexual parents. Nance said that “as a matter of conscience” and “under no circumstance” would “the best interest of the child be promoted by the adoption by a practicing homosexual." Now the Kentucky Fairness Campaign is calling for his ouster. Today on the Barron County courthouse steps, Chris Hartman, chairman of the KY Fairness Campaign led people in chants of  "Racism, sexism  we say no, homophobia has got to go."  Judge Nance has appealed to his conscience and is trying to do his job accordingly. The irony here is that while the Kentucky Fairness Campaign is guided by its conscience on social matters it simultaneously seeks to separate Judge Nance from his conscience. In fact, they seek to punish him by putting him out of a job. So, how is this fair?
